About

James Playing Guitar 2016

James is a brilliant musician, artist, and poet.

With a focus that few have time to afford, James has  channeled his talents toward communicating the facets of his experience living in one bed, in one room, since 2019 with very severe Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME). When his body failed him, poetry became the only outlet for his passion to create.

At various times, James was able to draw on an iPad, record his voice from his bed, and play a little keyboard music on his lap. These creative pleasures did not last, however.

We hope that James's articulation of his experience will help to validate and support others trapped in their homes and their beds by severe ME.

For those who know and love a victim of this disease, we hope this authentic window into one experience strengthens your resolve to make the sacrifices needed to care effectively.
